ghost town 3-30-08

me and mike decided, since our previous plans got rescheduled, to take the metro as far south as we could to Jinzhou. the metro ran above ground so we could see more of the country side. it goes from industrial to country pretty fast. most of the scenery resembled the central valley in california, which tyler and briana know so well. we arrived at our final stop and walked a good mile and a half to reach the downtown area. on a whim walked up a sidestreet and came across this abandoned housing complex. it was huge about 5 or 6 8 story apartment buildings and many smaller condos. they were all about half done, mostly just the walls and some had bathrooms. they looked like they had been abandoned for quite some time. it made good wandering for a few hours.

and for dinner we went to pizza with mikes friend Marshall (as in Marshall Mathers, he really like eminem). anywho, pizza hut in china is like a really nice sit down restaurant with gourmet pizzas kinda like cpk. it kinda tripped me out.

and i will leave you with my favorite quote in recent times which was at a photo exhibit at the guangdon museum on sunday:

"photography is a magic thing! A magic thing with all sorts of mysterious smells, a bit strange and frightening, but something you learn to love very quickly" -J.H. Lartigue
